I. feel. so. damn. good.
I have thoroughly enjoyed these last few weeks with my housemate gone (as much as I love her). Until the last couple of days, at least (because it’s turned cold and rainy), I have been living outdoors most of the time, even whilst studying, meditating, whatever.
New favourite things:
The cushion is great … you sit on the edge of it, so that you can sit tailor fashion and keep your back straight the entire time. It’s not that comfortable (and it’s not supposed to be–no falling asleep while meditating!). And the bells are simply as a sort of prompt to get you in the right ‘spot’ to meditate. They have the clearest ring. I’m sounding like a broken record lately … I can not praise meditation enough. I’m starting on a more purist form of Buddhist meditation. The benefits are nearly immediate. But the more I do, the more I realise it will be a life-long mission to try and train the monkey-mind to just … QUIET for a moment! Lord, harnessing thoughts is hard, there’s no denying that.
And that makes me very, very nervous … because I have a checkup appointment with my surgeon tomorrow afternoon, and there are some suspicious lumpy like ‘things’ in The Breast. And I can’t help being superstitious … the last time I felt fantastic about my life and where it was headed and the trips and goals I had planned, I was diagnosed with cancer. But I’m trying not to think about that 🙂
I’m so very happy to hear how well you are doing and feeling. Long deserved feelings of well being. Your armchair film society sounds lovely. As does the garden and the meditation and enjoying family. All good things.
Do keep my apprised on the situation with the doctor. I will be keeping you in my thoughts.

Sorry to take so long to reply to this … I’ve been studying non stop. I hope to GOD it pays off this time.
All went well at the doctors! The pain and ‘lumps’ are the result of surgeries and radiotherapy, as I thought they probably would be.
