Hello and welcome!
My name is Julia and I live in a tiny cottage in a tiny village on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia.
I earn my crust as a journalist, and spend my out-of-work time singing, sleeping, reading, making (knitting, crocheting and embroidery), writing lists and other things, pondering, being cranky, and doing whatever else takes my fancy. I do like to cook, but you won’t be finding recipes here!
I am a mum to one teenage boy, one Halo – a Shetland sheepdog, aka Sheltie, in a blue merle coat and sporting one baby blue eye, and one Miss Victoria, a rescue moggie in a tuxedo coat who we haven’t gotten around to changing the name of.
I obsess about Tasmanian devils, grey-headed flying foxes and the Manning River helmeted turtle, and many other native critters that are endangered or threatened.
I’m a simple-lifer and greenie at heart, but I’m too lazy to be any good at it. I love the concept of gardening but, again, I’m too lazy to do doodly squat in that area.
I’m the world’s worst mindfulness and meditation practitioner, despite having the best of intentions. I also have a house full of musical instruments but, predictably, they barely ever get played.
I value authenticity, honesty, silence, intelligence and critical thinking.
I hope you enjoy your stay!
